HOW WE ARE RESPONDING TO THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK
Our tour staff are all vaccinated and most of our customers are. Effective beginning on September 2021 tours and forward all customers must be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination to participate in Search Beyond Adventures or My Vacation tours. Customers participating in Potato Tours or Sweet Pickle Tours, if not fully vaccinated against coronavirus, can still participate but need to show a negative PCA or antigen test no more than 72 hours prior to tour departure.
When CDC announces "herd immunity" goal is reached we will most likely discontinue the vaccine requirement. Unvaccinated customers who wish to register for a tour may do so for tours July 2022 onward with "conditional" status: If the vaccine mandate is dropped 60 days or more before your tour you can participate without coronavirus vaccine ("herd immunity" status). If herd immunity has not been reached or Search Beyond Adventures has continued its vaccine mandate you will be un-registered without penalty at the time of decision (at least 60 days prior to your tour).
Customers are asked to bring on the tour some face masks since some businesses and activity venues will require face covering. Airlines and trains and other public transportation will all require you to wear a face mask. With the increased spread of the delta variation some communities or states are re-implementing face covering requirements. If you are unwilling to wear a face mask when required or requested we cannot accept your application. Search Beyond Adventures has no face mask requirement policy but we adhere to local regulations or requests.
CANCELLING YOUR TOUR OR CHANGING TO ANOTHER TOUR
If there is public notice from Center for Disease Control or similar that any of our scheduled destinations is quarantined or closed due to impact by coronavirus we will close the tour up to the day of travel, and not charge any penalty to change to another later tour.
If you wish to cancel your tour you still MUST notify us by email, fax, or letter. Phone conversations or voice mail messages are insufficient notification, and if no formal notice received we will consider you a 'no show' and your tour will not be refundable or changeable.
If your tour is cancelled or postponed by us you have the choice of full refund, selecting another tour, or keeping money on account for future travel.
TRAVEL INSURANCE OFFERS EXTRA PROTECTION
You may purchase "TravelGuard" travel insurance from us for all our advertised tours. Per their policy statement:
"If you contract Coronavirus prior to your departure, you would be covered for Trip Cancellation if there is a confirmed diagnosis, including proof of illness from your doctor that states you are medically unable to travel at the time of departure. If you become ill with Coronavirus while on a covered trip, you would be covered for Medical Expense and Trip Interruption/Curtailment benefits if there is a confirmed diagnosis, including proof of illness from a doctor. These coverages are subject to the terms and conditions of your insurance policy.
If you are quarantined as a result of Coronavirus, you would be covered under the Trip Interruption/Curtailment benefit, subject to the terms and conditions of your insurance policy."
YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER ALTERNATIVE DESTINATIONS
If you prefer to avoid airports, public transportation, or event crowds, consider trying one of our tours that go to national parks, or one of our many van tours that drive to desinations, or our rustic destinations such as dude ranches or national parks.
TOUR LEADERS HAVE DISCRETION TO REFUSE YOUR TRAVEL WITH US IF YOU ARRIVE SICK
For the safety of our tour staff and our customers we must insist you arrive healthy, so please do not attempt to travel on tours if you have symptoms of illness. Depending upon the destination and activity, you may also be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Our tour leaders are empowered to enforce these procedures. We will send our policy description of coronavirus risk management procedures with the final documents (usually about two weeks before tour departs).
Canadian customers with negative coronavirus test results can fly or drive into the USA for vacation travel. Latin American countries are predominately open to US and Canadian travelers, and most overseas countries are open but usually have vaccine and coronavirus testing requirements. All customers re-entering the USA are required to receive a negative coronavirus test result before boarding a plane for entering USA. Contact our office for destination specific opportunities and restrictions.
