Depart for the long overnight flight from USA to Johannesburg, South Africa. Arrive afternoon of Day 2, and catch up on some sleep. Day 3 is a cultural day: tour Soweto township, Mandela House, the Apartheid Museum. Day 4 is safari day: we head out to Pilanesburg National Park to watch for lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo. Day 5 we fly to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius and then drive to our resort. Days 6 and 7 enjoy the ocean beaches, plus activity drives exploring this unique island: predominately Indian heritage, Hindu religion, but French speaking. Day 8 fly out of Mauritius for the overnight flight back to USA, arriving Day 9.
